Whareroa Farm's compact shrubland loop, specifically described as wheelchair suitable, with the car-park toilet closure important for visit planning.

Select the Stream Loop specifically

Whareroa Farm offers several very different walks. For this brief visit, choose the named Stream Loop through regenerating shrubland, not a general farm circuit. Use the main farm entrance described by DOC at the Queen Elizabeth Park interchange. Check the entrance map and signs before starting. The small published distance and return time belong only to this loop; they should not be carried across to a coastal lookout, forest walk or uphill farm route.

Plan access around the toilet closure

DOC explicitly describes the Stream Loop as suitable for wheelchairs. That route-specific statement is more useful than the page's combined grades for the whole farm, but it does not resolve every visitor's access needs. The main car-park toilets are closed, with alternatives listed at Queen Elizabeth Park Visitor Centre and the Hub. Confirm suitable facilities and the required travel before arriving. Do not add the journey to the Hub and still describe the outing as a brief loop.

Keep the visit compact

Use the short circuit for a slow look at regenerating vegetation, with time for rests according to the group's needs. Dogs are not allowed at Whareroa. Other parts of the farm have shared-use routes and longer connections; consult their signs rather than assuming this loop's accessibility applies across the property. Before departure, check current DOC notices and weather, bring what you need for a short outdoor stop, and make any extension a deliberate choice after finishing the loop.

Read the official track description and notices immediately before travelling. The source-check date is not a live access or safety report.
