Near Taupo
Watch the Waikato River funnel through a narrow gorge into powerful falls. Viewing areas offer a very different experience from a separately booked river excursion.

South of Rotorua
Explore a managed geothermal attraction with colourful pools and designated visitor paths. Plan it as its own stop outside Rotorua, rather than treating it as a city-centre park.
