Whanganui
The historic elevator and hilltop views offer a different perspective on Whanganui and its river. The elevator and the memorial tower are separate features.
Admission has not been confirmed. Check current visitor information, including transport and optional extras.
Check elevator operating times and which parts of the visit suit your mobility needs.
Palmerston North
Explore art, science and local stories through collections, exhibitions and activities. It offers an indoor alternative to a weather-dependent day outdoors.
General museum and gallery entry is free; some events and the separate Rugby Museum cost extra.
Check the current programme; special exhibitions and activities may have separate charges or bookings.
Whanganui
See the river from the water on a heritage paddle-steamer outing or choose a locally guided river experience. Different operators cover different stretches and stories.
Admission has not been confirmed. Check current visitor information, including transport and optional extras.
Confirm the departure location, trip length and operating conditions with the selected operator.
Whanganui
Spend a relaxed part of the day around a wooded city lake, with garden scenery and places to pause. Choose the section that suits your group rather than assuming all paths have the same surface.
Public reserve access; confirm current facilities and any optional charges locally.
Use the visitor map and local signs. Fountain operation and individual facilities may have their own arrangements.
Palmerston North
Explore the objects and stories behind New Zealand rugby, from early history to the national teams. This museum is a separate ticketed attraction beside the broader Te Manawa complex.
Museum admission is paid, with different local and overseas visitor rates.
Check the appropriate local or overseas visitor ticket and family eligibility. Do not confuse its admission with free general entry to Te Manawa.
Free refers to general entry or the named self-guided visit, not a whole day's costs. Transport, parking and extras may be additional. Check admission where residency or ticket choices differ.
