Athenree camping with mineral pools, close to the northern end of Tauranga Harbour.
Hot pools rather than a surf-front pitch
Athenree is at the northern end of Tauranga Harbour, with camping among established trees and mineral pools on the property. It is a different choice from camping directly beside Waihi Beach's surf coast. The pools include a larger family pool with a shallow section and a smaller adults' pool, giving the site a particular hot-springs focus.
Choose camping or roofed accommodation
Powered and non-powered pitches are offered for tents, campervans and caravans, alongside cabins and other units. Pool changing facilities include showers and toilets, but private-unit amenities should not be assumed on a campsite. The hot pools are recreational facilities, not evidence about drinking-water treatment. A stay here can combine time at the pools with separate trips towards the coast.
