Check which part of Anaura is operating
Anaura Bay Motor Camp is not the nearby DOC camping operation. Its homepage says the main camp is seasonally closed until the advertised December reopening, while identifying a self-contained motorhome section separately. A booking-opening date is not a reopening date. Before planning a stay, confirm that your vehicle qualifies for the operating section and that the particular site you intend to use is included.
Confirm amenities during the partial closure
The general camping page lists powered and non-powered sites, a communal kitchen, showers, toilets and a paid washing machine. Those descriptions do not prove every building is accessible while the main camp is closed. Ask which facilities serve your booked section and arrive prepared for any restrictions. The listed tariffs use a per-day-or-part basis alongside older seasonal text, so obtain a current quote directly.
Keep the camp rules with the right booking
Use the motor camp's own confirmation and pet policy rather than the DOC site's rules. The operator requires dogs to be leashed and supervised, excludes them from buildings and asks guests to sign its policy. Clarify any seasonal application before bringing a pet. Save the section and arrival instructions, and check beach conditions independently: accommodation permission does not establish that any water activity is suitable on the day.
Check the official campsite information for current restrictions, facilities and booking arrangements.
