Plan a northern Coast Track overnight

Anapai Bay is on the Waiharakeke-to-Whariwharangi section of the Abel Tasman Coast Track. The campsite takes walking or boating access rather than a road arrival. Work out the whole outward and return journey before choosing the night, including how everyone will carry their equipment. Do not transfer assumptions about access from the road-served Totaranui campground to this separate bay.

Use the facilities without overpacking

Flush toilets and untreated tap water support a tent stay, but the checked source does not establish showers, laundry or an equipped kitchen. Bring a stove, food and water-boiling arrangements in a load that suits your approach. Keep the items needed immediately on arrival easy to reach, especially shelter and dry clothing, so setting up does not require emptying every bag onto the ground.

Keep reservations and transport aligned

Book the campsite through DOC and check the residency-based adult rate for the season. The DOC Campsite Pass is not accepted here. Confirm any boat arrangements independently and review the current walking information before departure. Leave dogs at home. A little flexibility around the return is preferable to a connection that depends on an unverified service or an optimistic estimate of your group's walking pace.

Check the official campsite information for current restrictions, facilities and booking arrangements.
