Short walk-in camping at the Kauaeranga road end near the Webb Creek trailhead.

Use the road end without sleeping in the car park

Trestle View is the final campground up the Kauaeranga Valley, close to the Webb Creek approach towards the Pinnacles. Vehicles stay in the car park and camping equipment is carried in on a short walk. Choose luggage accordingly rather than arriving with an arrangement that only works beside a vehicle. The car park itself is not the camping space described by this record.

Separate the tent night from the mountain day

A night here can simplify an early walking start, but it does not provide a Pinnacles Hut booking or establish that a longer route suits your group. Check the track description and current notices before deciding how far to go. Keep the tent footprint manageable and organise tomorrow's food and water before turning in, so the morning begins without unnecessary packing decisions.

Keep a valley alternative available

Reservations are for Kauaeranga Valley camping, with the individual campground selected on arrival. If this road-end area cannot accommodate you, use another lawful open option rather than overflowing into the parking area. Bring cooking equipment and treatment for stream water, and retain all waste. Allow time on the gravel road for both arrival and departure, especially when the overnight sits between longer drives elsewhere.

Check the official campsite information for current restrictions, facilities and booking arrangements.
