Water buying advice
Before you buy
Refill and cleaning access
Compare the opening and removable parts with how you will refill and clean it. Confirm which tube, valve and adapters the listing includes.
Approved contents
Read the maker's temperature and contents limits. A water carrier is not a treatment system unless the exact listing explicitly says so.

Use, care & repair
01Leak-test before packing
Connect the supplied parts as instructed and test the complete system before putting it beside dry clothing or a sleeping bag.
02Clean all wet components
Use the manufacturer's cleaning and drying process for the reservoir, tube and valve. Do not transfer another brand's sanitation method automatically.

Platypus reservoir and filter care FAQsScope & source notes
Manufacturer FAQ library with separate reservoir, GravityWorks and QuickDraw sections, not a verified manual for an exact capacity or generation. Follow the original model manual for cleaning, disinfection, integrity checks and freezing precautions; do not apply bottle or reservoir procedures to filter cartridges. Common buying questions
Good to know
Will it fit any hydration-compatible pack?
Check the reservoir shape, hanger and tube routing against the exact pack. The compatible label alone does not establish a good fit.
Does it include a filter?
Only treat a filter as included when the source listing explicitly records it. A reservoir or water-storage bag alone is a carrier.
