Plan the campsite category, booking and access together

DOC campsites range from basic sites to more serviced facilities. Check the individual listing for drinking water, toilets, vehicle access and whether you must book. Do not infer a kitchen, showers, rubbish collection or mobile coverage from the DOC label. Bring the water, equipment and waste plan that the particular place requires.

A Campsite Pass applies only at participating sites and does not replace a required reservation. Great Walks campsites and other exclusions need separate checking. Compare your intended eligible nights before buying a pass, and consult the official listing again for access or weather alerts before departure.

Can I arrive without booking at every DOC campsite?

No. Booking requirements vary by site and season. Follow the current official campsite listing, even if you hold a Campsite Pass.
