Comfort is not limit
Read the published comfort and limit values separately. Do not treat an extreme or survival rating as a comfortable sleeping temperature.

Sleeping bags buying advice
Read the published comfort and limit values separately. Do not treat an extreme or survival rating as a comfortable sleeping temperature.
Check body-length guidance, shoulder room, hood and zip side. Compare the same size when checking weight or price.
Your mat, shelter, clothing, moisture and individual cold sensitivity all influence the sleep system. A bag rating is not a weather guarantee.
From first use to the next trip
Test the bag with your usual mat and clothing before a remote trip. Check the zip, hood and available space without compressing insulation.
Protect it from rain and air it when conditions allow. Follow the care label for washing and drying; down and synthetic products can have different instructions.
Once completely dry, follow the manufacturer's storage guidance. Keep the transport sack separate from long-term storage where a larger storage bag is specified.
Care & repair · Sea to Summit
Sea to Summit equipment care and storageGeneral manufacturer guidance for coated shelter fabrics, sleeping-bag storage, pillows, liners, dry bags, towels and cookware, not an exact-product manual. Use only the matching material or product-family section; it does not cover every accessory or establish dishwasher compatibility for another cookware generation. The original manual and care label take precedence. Content was browser-verified after direct retrieval was rate-limited.
Common buying questions
Start with the published comfort rating on a consistent test basis. Check whether the number in the product title is instead a limit rating and whether the size or version changes the specification.
No. Fill quantity, construction, fit and the published temperature test also matter. Fill power alone is not a complete warmth comparison.
No. Use the care label and the exact manufacturer's instructions. They take precedence over general washing advice.
