Cooking buying advice
Consider whether you mainly rehydrate food or need controlled simmering and a separate pan. Check usable fill limits, not just pot capacity.
Identify the exact fuel, connector and pot support required. Confirm whether the price includes the pot, fuel bottle, stabiliser or other accessories.
Compare stove, pot and lid weights on the same basis, then add fuel and required accessories. Manufacturer boil times are not a promise in every condition.
From first use to the next trip
Identify the model and generation before use. For stoves, follow all fuel-connection and clearance requirements; for cookware and utensils, use the applicable material and care instructions.
Never operate a fuel-burning stove in a tent, vestibule, vehicle or other enclosed space. Carbon monoxide, fire and burns are serious risks.
Follow the manual for cooling, storage and maintenance. Check your airline or transport operator's rules for stoves and fuel before travel.
