Stay by Lake Tikitapu

Rotorua Blue Lake TOP 10 is on Tarawera Road at Lake Tikitapu, away from the central Rotorua streets. The operator describes a lake-edge location surrounded by native bush. It highlights the wider Rotorua and Whakarewarewa Forest area for walking and biking, giving the park a different setting from an urban Rotorua holiday park.

Allow space for extra equipment

Powered categories include grass and partial-gravel pitches, with non-powered sites also advertised. Tents and touring vehicles use shared kitchens, showers, toilets and laundry. The park asks guests to telephone about boats or larger-than-usual camping equipment, so reserve suitable space rather than treating every pitch as the same size. A playground, hot tub and dump station are listed.
