A streamside Thames base
Dickson occupies the old Tararu gardens beside a stream, around three kilometres from central Thames. Native bush surrounds the grounds, and remains of a gold-processing stamper battery connect the site with the town's mining history. It is a base for exploring Thames and the Coromandel, not a campground at the Pinnacles trailhead or directly on a swimming beach.
Useful for a cycling stop
The park lists bicycle storage and e-bike services alongside a communal kitchen and laundry. Hot showers and laundry are coin-operated, and the pool is seasonal. Campsites sit alongside cabins and hire caravans; a caravan available to rent is not evidence of a pitch suitable for your own caravan. Confirm equipment suitability directly while the public accommodation descriptions remain incomplete.
